Peabody: Alice M. (Dossett) Provencher age 79, of Peabody, died peacefully Sunday, May 8, 2011 at the Jewish Rehabilitation Center in Swampscott. She was the devoted wife of Edward J. Provencher, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Eva (Remon) Dossett. Shortly after her marriage to Edward in 1952, the couple moved to Salem and resided there until they moved to Peabody in 1973. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Louis E. Provencher and his wife Janice of John Day, OR, two daughters, Deborah A. Woodman and her husband John of Belmont, NH, Bessie C. Rideout of Columbus, GA, 3 sisters, Thelma Howard and her husband Robert of Indianapolis, IN, Bessie Wesley and her husband Douglas of Fryeburg, ME, Mary Ellen Foan of Beverly, a brother Walter Dossett and his wife Linda of Peabody. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Tracy & Michael Woodman, Amanda, Christopher & Kyle Rideout, 4 great-grandchildren, Donovan, Faith, Mickayla and Scott, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Nettie Dumais and Jeannette Doty.
Her visiting hours will be on Friday, May 13, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem to be followed by her funeral service in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in W.
