Charles G. Chory, 88, a resident of Lawrence, MA., passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Lawrence General Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born in Lawrence, Charlie was a graduate of both St. Mary's Grammar School and Lawrence High School. He then went on to attend the University of Massachusetts in Lowell. Charlie was a retired Salesman for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. A World War II Veteran, he was a retired Major with the United States Army where he served with the First Special Service Force and received the Silver Star for gallantry in action. Charlie was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds sustained in Italy as well as the Bronze Star for European Campaigns, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, the European-African- Middle Eastern Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, as well as a member of St. Anthony's Maronite Church in Lawrence and Our Lady of Good Counsel-St. Theresa's Church in Methuen. While wintering in Florida, Charlie served as a Eucharistic Minister at Our Saviors Church in Cocoa Beach.

Chory of Lawrence, MA, Kathleen Farquhar and her husband Don of Murphy, TX, and Diane M. Chory of Lawrence, MA. Charlie is also survived by 2 grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Steven, as well as a brother: John Chory of Seabrook, NH, and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Anthony Maronite Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery in Methuen.
