Brenda Lorraine Byrne McDaniel, 59, of Fitzgerald died Sunday, May 8, 2011, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Keith Young, Timothy Wright, Kevin Byrne, Rob Hensley, Bryan Byrne, Derrick Rogers, Gerald Coney, Chris Martin and James Jordan will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Brenda was born on September 18, 1951 in Anderson, Indiana and was the daughter of Geneva Hagan Davis of Crystal River, Florida and the late Robert “Bob” Byrne. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her step-father, Harold Davis; two brothers, Gregory Byrne and David Byrne; and one granddaughter, Samantha Wright. She was retired from General Motors and was a member of Mount Zuma Baptist Church in Abbeville. She loved cross-stitching and loved to read. She also enjoyed Nascar racing, traveling and spending time with her family.
In addition to her mother, Brenda is survived by one son, Keith Young of Ty Ty; one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Timothy Wright of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; one step-daughter and her husband, Lucy and James Jordan of Fitzgerald; one brother, Kevin Byrne of Anderson, Indiana; one sister and brother-in-law, Noreen and Rob Hensley of Lebanon, Indiana; six grandchildren, Jasmine Wright, Jaqueez Wright, Johnna Young, Peyton Owens, Keagan Jordan and Tucker Jordan; one aunt, Annie Gray of Crystal River, Florida; two nieces, Megan Byrne, Christy Byrne; and three nephews, Bryan Byrne, Andy Hensley and Alex Hensley.
