Eileen Marie (Leahy) Reinold, a life-long resident of Medford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 7, 2011 after a 4 month illness.
Eileen was the third of four children born of Paul A. Leahy and Marion McNaughton of Medford. She was preceded in death by brothers James and Paul (Pete) Leahy. Her sister, Dorothy Kosek lives in Cleveland, Ohio.
Eileen Leahy attended Medford High School and married high school sweetheart Donald V. Reinold in 1952. After a period living in New Mexico during Donald’s Air Force service, they returned to Medford for the remainder of their 60 years together.
Eileen and Donald raised their four children in Medford in a tight-knit neighborhood which fostered life-long friendships. Later, she was welcomed as an honorary member of the Boston University Sargent’s Diners Club. With this group she shared many wonderful times. In her last few months, Eileen shared stories and commented on how she cherished all of these relationships.
Eileen leaves behind her husband, Donald and a loving family of which she was very proud; her children, Kathy Reinold and her husband Bob Miller of Reading, Bill Reinold of Malden, Michael Reinold of Stittville, NY and Sharon McNamara and her husband, John of Westford, her grandchildren, Nichole Wall, Danielle DeNufrio, Jennifer McNamara, Juliana Reinold, Samantha McNamara, Fallon Reinold, John McNamara, Robert Reinold and Logan, Riley, Turnerand MaKenna Reinold and her great-grandchildren, Caeleb, Cole and Dellana Wall. She will be remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden on Wednesday, May 11th at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held from the A.J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Tuesday, May 10th from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Eileen's memory may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, Fl 6 Brookline, MA 02445-9924.
