Robert D. DiGangi, 56, of Londonderry, NH, died Saturday May 7, 2011 in his home in Londonderry. He was born in Boston, MA on April 14, 1955, a son of the late Alfonso and Gloria (Guido) DiGangi. A resident of Londonderry for the past 12 years, he formerly lived in Medford, MA, Somerville, MA and Winthrop, MA. Robert had been employed as a professional ramp transport driver for Federal Express for 28 years, retiring in November 2010. He had been a member of the Winthrop Elks Lodge, the National Rifle Association, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley and going on vacation. Robert was a friend to many, and when you met him, you became a lifelong friend.
He is survived by his wife, Jennie (Valliant) DiGangi of Londonderry; one son, Robert J. DiGangi of Londonderry; his mother in law; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday, May 11th from 4 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday at 10:00am in St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Following cremation, burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dana Farber Memorial Donation Dept., Thoracic Oncology, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115, or to the charity of one's choice.
