In Taunton, May 7, 2011, Ruth M. Davis, age 65 passed away at home following a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Ruth was born in Dedham, MA to her late parents John & Beryl (Simpson) Harrison. She has resided in Taunton for the past 30 years and was formerly of New Bedford. Ruth is a retired mental health worker who was employed at Taunton State Hospital. Ruth enjoyed being with her many friends but above all cherished her time with family, especially her grandchildren. Ruth is survived by her children; Michelle Rizzo of New Bedford, Robert Rizzo of Fairhaven, Dawn Rizzo of Taunton, Wayne Davis of New Bedford, Shaiann Vancour of Taunton and Kevin & Justice Davis both of Taunton. Her grandchildren; Jeremie Chumack, Shayna Slater, Kirsten Davis, Kameron Davis, Dawn Dias, Nicholas Dias, Darcy Rizzo and Mahyr Rizzo. Ruth also leaves her sister Donna Caulfield of N.C. A funeral home service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. in Taunton, MA 02780 on Weds. May 11th at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tues. from 5-8pm. Burial will be in Cedar Knoll Cemetery in East Taunton.
