Methuen, Ma. – Alice M. (Morneau) Bourassa, 89 died Friday May 6, 2011 at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Bourassa was born in Salem, Mass. June 9, 1921 the daughter of Leon and Lydia (Poussard) Morneau. Alice was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in South Lawrence.
Prior to its closing, she was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church also of South Lawrence.
According to Jeffrey her husband of more than 64 years she enjoyed flower and fruit gardening, they loved visiting relatives in Arizona during the winter months. Enjoyed Foxwoods, was a very good cook, seamstress, and enjoyed bingo.
Besides her husband survivors include : children Pauline Poore and her longtime partner Desmond Johnson, Ronald and his wife Cynthia Bourassa, Susan and her husband Douglas Reilly, brothers, Albert and Arthur Morneau, as well as sisters, Jeannette Couture and Marie Castiglione, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Alice was predeceased by her son Raymond Bourassa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock in Our Lady of Good Counsel / Saint Augustines Chapel Ames Street in Lawrence.
Friends will be warmly received on Monday from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
