Obituary

Gerald J. Boucher, 74, of Westport died Friday, May 6, 2011 at Brandon Woods Dartmouth. He was husband of Cynthia M. (Costa) Boucher.

Born in Fall River, son of the late Adeoda and Henrietta (Vautrin) Boucher, he had lived in Westport 35 years. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country in the Air Force. Prior to retirement, he was a teacher for the Westport School System for over 30 years and had also worked for Bristol Elder Services, Meals on Wheels. Mr. Boucher was a Communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport and was a member of the AMVETS Post 60, Fall River. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed shooting pool and reading.

Including his wife, survivors include a daughter: Nicole M. Power and her husband Derek of Dartmouth; a brother-in-law: Thomas Costa and his wife Doreen; a granddaughter: Kayleigh; an aunt: Dolly Vautrin; and several cousins.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.

Calling hours Monday 4 – 8 P.M.

Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
