Obituary

Antonio DeGuglielmo of Somerville, died May 5 in Saugus following a brief illness. He was 87.

Born and raised in Italy, he served in the Italian forces during World War II. He was the beloved husband of Palmina (Minichiello) DeGuglielmo, together they shared nearly 65 years of marriage.
In 1970 they brought their family to the United States, settling in Cambridge, they later moved to Somerville.

Antonio found work in the construction trades and worked very hard to provide for his family. A member of the Laborer's Union, he was able to retire following 17 years of work in the trades. He enjoyed being outdoors, taking walks around the city and working in his garden growing all the Italian staples, including grape vines and tomatoes.

Antonio was a loving father of Enrico DeGuglielmo of Peabody and his former wife Rosa of Everett, Carmine DeGuglielmo and his wife Linda of Lynn, Carolina Fazio and her husband Umberto of Somerville. Cherished “Nonno” of 11 Grandchildren and 5 Great grandchildren. Brother of Carmela Zuzolo of Cambridge.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St.,MEDFORD, Tuesday at 10AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford Street, SOMERVILLE at 11AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 2 thru 8 pm.

Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.
