Methuen, Ma. – Irena (Karpinska) Chylinski, 87 died Thursday May 5, 2011 at the Academy Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Chylinski was born in Lodz, Poland September 8, 1923 and had been a long time resident in Methuen. Irena had been employed for many years as a layout operator with Western Electric of North Andover prior to her retirement.
A former communicant of Holy Trinity Church before its closing she had been a former member of their ladies auxiliary.
Irena loved visiting her homeland of Poland and visiting Atlantic City, as well as traveling and bowling and playing cards.
The widow of Tadeusz Chylinski she is survived by 5 children : Barbara Novak and husband Thomas Kendra, Henryk and his wife Halina Chylinski, Jeremi and his wife Camille Chylinski, Wanda Osgood, Jadwiga and husband Janusz Lopatto, 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock in Corpus Christi/Holy Rosary Church of Lawrence with burial to follow in Bellevue Cemetery.
Friends will be warmly received on Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
