Eva (Cormier) Cormier-Bilodeau, 105, died May 5 in the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham. She was the wife of the late Albert Bilodeau and the late Gerard Cormier.
Born in Buctouche, Nova Scotia, Canada, November 30, 1905, the daughter of the late Arcade and Evangeline (Cormier) Cormier, Eva came from Canada to Gardner at the age of 17 and had lived in Rutland for over 75 years before coming to Wrentham to be closer to her son.
She had been an LPN at the Rutland State Sanitarium for many years.
Eva had spent the winter in Orlando, Florida for over 25 years and also enjoyed knitting and sewing.
She is survived by her son J. Ernest Cormier and his wife Joyce of Wrentham.
She was the mother of the late Raymond Cormier.
She was the sister of the late Georgiana Dick, Severin Leger and Emile and Oscar Cormier.
She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 12 in St. Patrick’s Church in Rutland at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in the Worcester County Cemetery in Paxton.
