Obituary

Gerard A. Guillet, 68, of Swansea died May 3, 2011 at St. Anne's Hospital after complications from exposure to Agent Orange.
He was the husband of Linda A. (Eleuterio) Guillet.
Born and raised in New Bedford, the son of the late Gerard G. and Beatrice Y. (Martin) Guillet, he has lived in Swansea since 1985.
Mr. Guillet was formerly employed by Ocean Fresh Seafood for many years until his retirement.
He was a graduate of St. Anthony's High School in New Bedford. He served as a radio operator in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of the Vietnam Service Medal. He was a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Guillet was an avid golfer and a member of the New Bedford Municipal Golf Course. He was a Boston RedSox and Boston Bruins fan.
Survivors include his wife; 3 children, Gerald Normandin and his wife Marilyn of Swansea, Michael Normandin and his wife Kathy of Coventry, RI and Lori Reed and her husband Scott of Somerset; a sister, Marguerite "Peggy" McCuen and her husband Ron of New Bedford; 6 grandchildren, Gerald Normandin, Jr., Joshua Normandin, Joel Normandin, Michael Joseph Normandin, Alex Gerard Normandin and Hannah Lynn Reed; and several cousins.
His Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 6th at 12 Noon in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 Eighteenth St., NW Washington, DC 20006-3517.
