Obituary

BEVERLY: Louise M. (Condon) Griffin, 87, died Monday, May 2, 2011 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late William H. Griffin who died in 1996.
Born in Salem on April 19, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Daisy (O’Brien) Condon. She was a graduate of Salem High School and has resided in Beverly for the past fifty years.
Louise was employed at Carter’s in Beverly, where she made raincoats for the soldiers during World War II. She had also once worked for Jerry’s Army & Navy Store in Salem for several years. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and loved watching old movies.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Louise E. Griffin of Beverly; three nieces, Susan and her husband, Paul Picard, Elaine and her husband, Kenneth Nelson and Sharon and her husband, Robert Larivee all of Beverly; one nephew, Brien and his wife, Cindy Rollins of Amsterdam, NY; six beloved great-nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Nelson, Thomas Nelson, Nicole Picard, Patrick Picard, Danielle Martin and Richard Larivee all of Beverly; four beloved great-great-nieces and nephews, Colby and Grace White and Samantha and Ella Martin and a sister-in-law, Barbara Moynihan of Beverly. She was also predeceased by her sister, Carolyn Bowden, a great-niece, Wendy White, an uncle, Bertram O’Brien and two aunts, Mildred Martin and Evelyn Wightman.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Hospice of the North Shore and Greater Boston, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923. Interment will be held in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
