Obituary

WORCESTER
Leon Hoogasian, 81, of Worcester, a retired engineer recently living in Ventura, CA died April 29, after a short illness in UMASS Memorial Hospital.
His wife,the former Gail Berquist, predceased him in 2003. He leaves his sister, Marion Bilzerian and her husband Edward S. of Worcester; three nephews, Edward J. Bilzerian and his partner Diane Burke of Sutton, Barry Bilzerian and his wife Jean of Worcester and Peter Bilzerian of Worcester. He was born in Worcester, son of Nish and Elizabeth (Mazmanian) Hoogasian and graduated from North High School in 1947 and Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1951 with a degree in electrical engineering. he served in the Army Ordnance during the Korean War.
Leon worked in the aerospace industry and the Department of Defense for many years, before retiring to Ventura.
A Private Funeral Service was held Monday, May 2 in the Armenian Church of Our Savior. There are no calling hours.
