Joseph Mitti Dhosi 79, of Waban and formerly of South Boston and Dorchester died Friday April 29, 2011 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
He was the beloved husband of Irene R. (Tutuny) Dhosi with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.
A Waban resident for 41 years he was born in Boston the son of the late Mitti and Olympia (Stevens) Dhosi.
Mr. Dhosi was an Administrative Officer in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at M.I.T for 35 years retiring in 2010, Director of the Departments’ Internship Program and was a member of the colleges Quarter Century Club.
He was an active and lifelong member of St George Cathedral in South Boston. He sang in the Church Choir for 67 years, was a former Choir Director, and was a Knight of St George.
Mr. Dhosi was an avid Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins fan.
He was a graduate of Boston Latin School, Boston College class of 1953, and received two Masters Degrees from M.I.T, one from the Sloan School of Management and one in Materials Science and Engineering.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving and devoted children, Katharine I. Kolenda and her husband Daniel of Southborough, Joseph J. Dhosi and his wife Susan of Scituate RI, cherished grandchildren James, Annalise and Matthew Kolenda, Katharine and Charles Dhosi, loving sister Annette Anderson of Miami FL, dear brother in law of Pandi Tutuny and his wife Shirley of Pocasset and Violetta Tutuny of Natick, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Tuesday May 3 at 11:00 A.M. at St George Albanian Orthodox Cathedral 523 East Broadway in South Boston. Visitation in the Church on Tuesday morning beginning at 10:30 A.M. prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Dell Park Cemetery in Natick.
Visiting hours in the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common, are Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
