Obituary

NATICK: Randolph P. "Randy" Hacker, age 92, of Natick, formerly of Walpole, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Chelsea Soldier's Home, surrounded by loved ones.

He was the beloved husband of 50 years to Helen (Granroth) Hacker, who passed away on August 27, 2003.

Born in Lowell on September 19, 1918, he was the son of the late Frank and Emily (Ribnekar) Hacker and grandson of the late Charles and Anna (Sivacek) Hacker.
During World War II, Randy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1939-1946. He was awarded several decorations for his military service including the World War II Victory Medal, the American Defense Service Medal w/ clasp, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon and the American Theater Campaign Ribbon.

Prior to his retirement, he worked for many years for the Bird Manufacturing Company. Later in life, Randy loved to garden, take walks and play cribbage with his many friends. While living in Natick, Randy enjoyed playing pool at the Kennedy Senior Center and spending time with his devoted cat "Morgan".

Randy is survived by his son, Donald and his wife Jonna Yager of Natick and their daughter Peri of Charlotte, NC; also numerous cousins including Elsie G. (Haas) Howell of Tewksbury.
Randy was the brother of the late, Sergeant Pilot William E. Hacker, MIA, 1943.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 6, at 2 p.m., at the Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East St., Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Hallmark Health Hospice, 178 Savin St., Malden, MA 02148 or to The Friends of the Natick Senior Center, 90 Oak Street, Natick, MA 01760.
