Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, April 30, 2011, Mr. Jesse Bowman, 84, loving husband of 64 years to Mrs. Vivian B. Bowman.
Mr. Bowman, a native and lifelong resident of Augusta, was a member of Faith Memorial Church of Martinez where he served as Deacon, Assistant Pastor, Sunday School teacher, and Music Director. Mr. Bowman retired from Graniteville Co. as an Overseer in the Spinning/Spooling Department.
Family members in addition to his wife include son, Jesse “Doil” Bowman, Jr. (Debra) of Harlem; daughter, Linda Carbone (John) of Evans; brother, Carden D. Bowman of Hephzibah; granddaughters: Melissa Canfield (Shawn) of Martinez, Kim Speering (Russell) of Evans, Alicia Medlin (Eric) of Martinez, Amy Steele of Grovetown; great-grandchildren: Maddison Hornsby, Bryce Canfield, Riley Medlin, Sarah Speering, Chase Canfield, Katy Steele; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor Bill Hilley officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Shawn Canfield, Eric Medlin, Russell Speering, Walter Hornsby, Glenn Bowman, and Derrick Young.
