Eleanor R. (Dee) (McKinnon) Boucher of Londonderry, NH passed away April 29, 2011 following a period of declining health. Her loving family was at her side.
She was born in Manchester on July 18, 1930, the only daughter of Martin and Catherine (Morrissey) McKinnon. Eleanor devoted her life to caring for her wheelchair bound husband, who, although self-sufficient, depended on her tremendously. Those who knew them witnessed the example of pure loyalty.
Eleanor always saw the best in everyone and everything. Her upbeat personality and positive attitude amazed everyone and it was often said that the world would be a better place if all people shared in her way of life.
Eleanor and her husband, Bill, enjoyed many years at their camp on Maidstone Lake in Maidstone, Vermont, and in 1996, proudly became the first private landowners.
She is survived by two sons, Wm. Patrick and his wife, Cheryl, of Groton, Vermont and Martin and his wife, Diane, of Londonderry, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one brother, Alan McKinnon and his wife, Zoe, of Merrimack, three sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews, and wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, William P. “Bill” Boucher, in 2010 and by six brothers.
At Eleanor’s request, there are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 10:00am in St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery, 765 Brown Avenue, Manchester. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Derry and Londonderry is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Parish Community, 435 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH 03053 or to the charity of one’s choice.
