Obituary

Daniel Donabedian, 90, of Salem, NH died Thurs., April 28th at Salemhaven.

Daniel was born and educated in Salem and graduated from Woodbury High School. He was a lifelong Salem resident. He was a local businessman who managed Donabedian Farm and started Donabedian Brothers Wholesale Fruit and Produce with his brother Suren. Throughout the growth of the company, they built three warehouses. After Suren’s passing, Daniel’s son Greg joined the family business. Daniel also owned G-Daniels Mall in Salem.

Daniel was a member of the Ararat Armenian Congregational Church in Salem. He was a founder of the Salem Trust Company and also served on their Board of Directors. Daniel’s passion was farming and he loved working the land.

He was predeceased by his parents Sultan (Vartanian) and Lazarus Donabedian and his siblings Suren Donabedian, Dorothy Derohanian, Margaret Ananian, Carrie Tomasian and Vera Donabedian.

His wife of 65 years: Louise (Kerkorian) Donabedian of Salem, NH

Son: Gregory Donabedian and his wife Mary Jude of Windham, NH

Daughter: Susan and her husband Dr. Thomas Harris of Salem, NH

4 Grandchildren: Dr. Elizabeth Harris and Grace, Daniel and Jude Donabedian

A Memorial Service will be held next Tues., May 10th at 12 Noon at Ararat Armenian Congregational Church, Salem, NH. Arrangements are under the care of Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH 03079
