WASHINGTON...Robert Del Craddick, 72, of Washington, passed away at 10:05 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Greater Peoria Specialty Hospital.
Rob was born in Peoria to Lillian and Del Craddick on December 3, 1938. He married Sandra Baird in Tremont on December 14, 1963. She survives.
He is also survived by a son, David (Shannon) and daughter Dana (Jerry) King, both of East Peoria; a sister, Sharon (Ken) Scheeler of Chillicothe; sister-in-law, Jan Craddick of Tremont and six grandchildren, Christopher Craddick of Morton, Cole and Shelby Craddick and Cody, Courtney and Elizabeth King, all of East Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Frederick.
Rob served in the Navy and was stationed at Pearl Harbor. He worked for Caterpillar for 30 years, retiring in 1989.
He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, coaching girls softball, loved trivia and history.
Rob was a Green Bay Packer fan, NASCAR and a die hard Cub fan.
He loved his family and Lord very much and attended Sunnyland Nazarene Church. He was a hero to his grandkids and a symbol of hope.
A memorial service for Rob will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 30 at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Randy Lingenfelter officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home two hours prior to services on Saturday. Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to Sunnyland Nazarene Church.
Military rites will be accorded by the U.S. Navy and Tazewell Military Rites Team.
