Obituary

Worcester- Ona (Cesnaitis) Dabrila- Dovydaitis, 97, of Matulaitis Nursing Home, Putnam, passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004.

Her first husband, Matas Dabrila died in 1952. Her second husband, Vincas Dovydaitis died in 1989. She was born in Lithuania, daughter of Vincas and Agniete (Kalpokaite) Cesnaitis. She was raised, educated, and worked as a librarian in Vilkaviskis, Lithuania. In 1944, she and her husband fled to Austria, and after the war, lived in Germany. In 1948, she emigrated to Worcester, MA, and worked at the Bell Co. In 1956, after her marriage to Vincas Dovydaitis, she moved to New York. There, she worked at Chemical Bank until retirement. In 1969, she moved to Lake Worth, Florida. In 1997, she moved to Villa Maria in Thompson, CT. Since 2001, she has been living in Matulaitis Nursing Home, Putnam, CT. While living in Worcester, she was a member of St. Casimir Parish. She financially supported churches and charities. She enjoyed reading, handcrafting, and traveling. She leaves many relatives in U.S.A. and Lithuania.

The funeral will be Thursday, Jan. 29, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, in the funeral home.
