David S. “Doc” Roszak age 63 of Germantown Hills, Illinois passed away at 1:35am Tuesday April 26, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 13, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois to Stanley W. and Delores (Bernotus) Roszak. He married Laurie L. Satterfield Oct. 27, 1984 in Peoria. She survives.
Surviving are one daughter Kristen Roszak of Peoria; His mother of Metamora, and one brother Dennis Roszak of Chicago. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Mary (Kevin) Tritsch of Peoria, one nephew, one niece, two great nephews, and one great niece. He was preceded in death by his father.
David graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in 1965, then served in the army and later receiving his Bachelor’s Degree from Western Illinois University. He was a independent Sales Rep. working with various manufacturing companies. He was actively involved as a 25 year plus member of The Independent Sports Club of Central Illinois, where he was currently serving as secretary and had served as president in 1996. David was a member of the American Legion and loved to golf and travel. He was a die hard Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. He attended St. Mary’s of Lourdes Catholic Church and with his outgoing personality never met a stranger.
A Memorial service will be 11:30am Friday April 29, 2011 at the Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Father Neri Greskoviak officiating. Family will receive friends and relatives from 10:30 am until service time at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers a memorial in David’s name has been established at any of the PNC Banks in the Tri-County area.
