Obituary

Jean Claude Lavoie, 64, of Derry, NH died Wednesday April 27, 2011 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center, Derry. He was born on May 1, 1946 in Vill Degelis, Quebec, Canada, a son of Lucille (Dumont) Lavoie and the late Gilbert Lavoie. He was a resident of Derry for 13 years, formerly of Methuen, MA. Mr. Lavoie left Canada in 1963 when he was 15 years old. He worked as a self-employed carpenter. Mr. Lavoie loved to play pool, especially with his son and with his team, was a pool champion, played the harmonica and was an avid hockey fan.
He is survived by one son, Yves Lavoie of Derry, NH, two grandchildren, Michael and Alyson Lavoie, his mother Lucille Lavoie of Methuen, MA, three sisters, Claudette Pinet of Florida, Mariette Pelletier of Derry, Nicole Beaureguard of Gilmanton, NH and by his former wife; Denise Lavoie of Methuen. He was predeceased by his father, Gilbert Lavoie, and his two brothers Pierre-Leo Lavoie and Jean-Paul Lavoie.
Private family funeral services were held. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jean’s memory to the American Lung Association of NH 20 Warren Street, Suite 4 Concord, NH 03301.
