Julius A. Rook, Jr., 87, of Reidsville, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Annie Penn Hospital. Born in Durham on
June 20, 1923, he was the son of the late Julius A. Rook, Sr. and Nannie Davis Rook. He was married to
Sleenia Turner Rook who predeceased him.
Mr. Rook had worked as a clerk for Norfolk and Southern Railways and he was a member of the Salvation Army.
He had lived in Danville for 25 years where he retired at the age of 61. He had been living in Reidsville for 26 years.
He is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Massey of Reidsville; two grandchildren, Edward Rook, Jr. and Susan R. Hutcherson
And husband Ricky of Reidsville, and two great-grandchildren, Briana Rook and Dean Hutcherson.
Graveside services will be held Friday, April 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Reidsville.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel,
564 West Main Street, Danville, Va., and at other times will be at the home of Susan and Richard Hutcherson at
3401 Grooms Road, Reidsville.
