Margaret “Peggy” Turner Healy, age 67 of Lincoln University, PA, passed away on Monday April 25, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of James W. “Jim” Healy, Sr with whom she shared 42 years of marriage and the devoted and loving mother of James W. “Jimmy” Healy, Jr.
Born in West Grove, PA she was the daughter of the late Sarah Kidd and Robert Turner.
Peggy was a graduate of Rising Sun High School class of 62’, graduate of Penn State University class of 66’ where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English and a graduate of West Chester University where she earned her Graduate Degree in English. Peggy worked at the Cecil Wig Newspaper in Elkton, MD where she was an assistant Editor, was the managing Editor of the Oxford Press, now the Chester County Press, and was the Editor of the Cecil Democrat. She worked for Burroughs Corporation, which later became Unisys, in Great Valley for 30 years until she took leave due to her illness.
In addition to her husband and son she is survived by several cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service on Friday April 29, 2011 at 11:00am from the Ruffenach Family Funeral Home 224 Penn Avenue, Oxford, PA 19363 (610)932-2277 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 to 11:00am.
Interment will be in the Faggs Manor Cemetery in Cochranville, PA.
