TEWKSBURY - Catherine (DeLeo) Frongillo, age 94, a former Wakefield resident, died Sundayevening, Jan. 25, at Blairehouse of Tewksbury. She was the wife of Anthony Frongillo, who diedin 1969.
She was born in Boston’s North End, Sept. 20, 1909, a daughter of the late Leonard and Rosalie(Sortino) DeLeo. She was raised in the North End, and attended St. John’s School in Boston. She lived in Wakefield for 50 years, where she was a communicant of the Most BlessedSacrament Church, and a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Guild. She moved toTewksbury’s Saunders Circle elderly housing complex two decades ago. Since living inTewksbury, she had been a communicant of St. William’s Church.
During her working career, she was employed as a stitcher in the manufacture of clothing.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Janice (Moss) Frongillo of No.Hampton, NH, John and Janet (Hurton) Frongillo of Wakefield; a son-in-law, Joseph Santoro ofTewksbury; 7 grandchildren, Annette Cerullo, Tonilynn McGee, Anthony and John Frongillo,John, William and Joseph Santoro , and 8 great grandchildren.
She was also mother of the late Marion Rose Santoro; grandmother of the late Francis “Frank”Santoro; and sister of the late Blanche Colelle, Florence Ciaccio, and Pasquale “Pat” DeLeo.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, Jan. 30, in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Wakefield. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
