Robert L. Henderson, 81, of Natick, lovingly known to family and friends as “Bob” or “Hendy”, passed away on April 24, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Lee) Henderson with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.
A lifelong resident of Natick, Bob was the son of the late Louis and Frances (Nims) Henderson. He was raised and educated in Natick, graduating from Natick High School in 1949. Bob served with the United States Army. He was self-employed as a mason/contractor. Bob was a life member of the Natick Elks, a member of the Natick AmVets, and the American Legion. He loved boating, spending time at his home in Eastham on Cape Cod, and travelling to Aruba. Bob also bred, raised, and showed Doberman Pinscher’s. Above all else, he dedicated his life to his family.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his children, Dana Henderson of Natick, Debbie Leverone and her husband Larry of Natick, Dale Henderson and his wife Robin of Natick, and Donna Williams and her husband Dean of Framingham. He was the cherished grandfather of Tonelle, Ryan, Tara, Michelle, Nick, Brett, and Brooke and great-grandfather of Macie Bea. He is also survived by his brother Donald Austin and his wife Lorraine of OR.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Bob’s funeral service on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) NATICK. Burial with military honors will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, South Natick. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 from 4-8 PM.
