Florence E. Perkins, 86, of Norton formerly of Mansfield passed away peacefully on Monday April 25, 2011 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare Center in Norton.
Born in Middleboro, MA on July 6, 1924, she was a dear daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Johnson) Perkins.
She grew up in Middleboro and Medway, was educated in Medway public schools and was a graduate of Medway High School. Following graduation she went to work at the former Quincy Shipyard during WWII.
Florence later moved to moved to New York where she worked in the Brooklyn Shipyard. She retired from the Home Savings Bank in New York where she had been employed for 20 years as an Account Manager.
A resident of Norton for over 20 years, she had also made her home for several years in Mansfield. Florence was an active member of the Mansfield Senior Center where her favorite times spent were painting and socializing with friends. She loved being in the presence of her adoring family and will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her loving daughter Barbara A. Cinelli and her husband David of North Attleboro. She is also survived by her cherished granddaughter Jessica L. Padelford of North Attleboro, her great grandchildren Calynn Padelford and Corey Padelford both of North Attleboro, and was predeceased by her siblings.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Sunday May 1st from 1-4 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Private burial will be held at a later date.
