New Bedford–Josephine (Perry) Calheta age 84 years, died Saturday April 23, 2011 at home. Josephine was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Calheta. Loved mother of Doreen Mandeville of New Bedford, Grandmother of Chad and Cassie Mandeville. She was the sister of Paul Perry, Donald Perry, Gilford Perry and Elaine Perry all of New Bedford, Raymond Perry of Tiverton, RI., and John Perry of Fairhaven, MA. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
Mrs. Calheta was a daughter of the late Agnes (Souza) and Joseph Perry, she was born in New Bedford and has lived in this area all of her life. She was employed as a stitcher at local dress factories until her retirement. She was a Member of Holy Name Seniors and attended Brandon Woods Day Care in Dartmouth
Mrs. Calheta’s visiting hours will be Tuesday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. from 5 to 8. Services will take place at 7:30 P.M. In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations to the family will be greatly appreciated.
