Doris T. Brassard, 92, of Derry, NH, died Sunday April 24, 2011 in Parkland Medical Center in Derry. She was born in Albany, VT on July 5, 1918, a daughter of the late Eugene and Minnie (Perrault) Tetreault. Over the years, she worked in Derry at the St. Thomas Aquinas Parish Canteen during WWII, the Plaza Theatre, and the Miss Lynch Shop, prior to retiring from Ames Department Store. Following retirement, she spent 14 years at Kings Point in Sun City Center, FL. Mrs. Brassard was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry, where she was a member of the Tabernacle Society, and the Phil Lessard Chapter of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter, Paula Curtis of Sun City Center, FL; three sons, Paul Brassard and his wife Paula of Londonderry, NH, Peter Brassard, Sr. and his wife Susan of Derry, and Mark Brassard and his wife Julie of Derry; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren, she was anxiously awaiting the birth of her 7th great granddaughter; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John L. Brassard who died in 1993.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, April 28th from 6 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Cremation followed. Private graveside services will be held in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas School, 3 Moody St., Derry, NH 03038, or to Amedisys Hospice, 1E Commons Dr., Suite 33, Londonderry, NH 03053.
