Daniel P. Sapochetti, a 55 year resident of Medford, formally of the North End and beloved husband of the late Margaret (Palmariello) Sapochetti, died at his home, surrounded by his loving children on Frida, April 22, 2011. He was 96 years old.
Mr. Sapochetti was a WWII Navy veteran, entering the military at Sampson, New York on January 6, 1944 and receiving his honorable discharge from Boston on December 6, 1945. While serving in the Navy, Mr. Sapochetti worked as a machinist and attained the rank of Fireman First Class. He was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, the American Theatre Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal with one bronze star, for his exemplary service. In civilian life, Daniel worked for many years at the Boston Navy Yard as a machinist. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed going to the VFW in Medford.
He will be sadly missed by his loving children; Elaine M. Sapochetti, Diane J. Sapochetti, Corinne M. Sapochetti and Daniel P. Sapochetti, Jr., all of Medford.
