Beloved mother of Margaret Carpenter of Chelsea, Nancy Welch of Maine, John Gallant and Bernard Gallant both of Chelsea, James Gallant of New York, Ann Gallant of Chelsea and the late Betty Duerden. Daughter of the late Bernard and Bernice (Mullen) McGowan. Dear sister of Clyde Wyman of Georgia and George Wyman of Maine. Cherished grandmother of 17 including Theresa Gallant and Marie Smith who were close to her heart. Also lovingly survived by 3 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Wednesday, April 27th at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Rose Church, 600 Broadway, Chelsea at 9 o'clock. Services will conclude with interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
Born in Maine, and spending the last 56 years in Chelsea, Marie passed away at home at the age of 76. For many years she worked as a sticher for Eagle Shoe prior to retirement.
