Ocala, FL -Patricia Ann (Pat) Carson - of Ocala, FL passed away at the age of 75 on Tuesday, March 29 following a brief illness at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL
Patricia, daughter of the late Dennis E. and Margaret G. (Donnelley) Quinlan, was born in Boston, MA on April 18, 1935 and raised in Methuen, MA. A graduate of Tenney High School, Patricia married her high school sweetheart (Ret. SFC) George J. Carson on March 17, 1957. The two began their lives together during an extended honeymoon in the US territory of Alaska, the first of many assignments including Germany, Ft. Bragg, NC and Ft. Devens, MA.
Before moving to Florida where they recently celebrated their 54th year of marriage, Patricia and George lived in Salem, NH where they raised their three children.
Patricia, a parishioner of St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Marion Oaks and a long time member of the St. Jude’s Ladies Guild, loved baking for her family and friends. Patricia always found time to help both friends and stranger in need.
Patricia is survived by her beloved husband George and her three children, Margaret G. Carson and her spouse Joyce C. Dussault of Kensington, CT, Gregory G. Carson and his wife Sharon M of Londonderry, NH and Timothy G. Carson and his wife Terri L. of Antrim, NH.
Patricia, a wonderful grandmother, leaves behind her two granddaughters Alicia M. and Deirdre M. Carson of Londonderry, NH as well as, three grandsons, Ian R. Carson and his wife Angela of Pinardville, NH, Rory J. Carson of Allenstown, NH and John Masellis of Antrim, NH. She also leaves behind her sister June A. Valliere of Salem, NH, her sister-in law Theresa Quinlan of Methuen, MA, her sister-in-law Ruth E. Bower and her husband Joseph of Wilmington, DE, her brother-in-law William (Greg) Carson and his wife Iris of Charleston, SC, her sister-in-law Nancy Browall and her husband Ronald of Dunnellon, FL and her brother-in-law Barry Carson and his wife Judy of Rochester, NY. She also leaves behind dear friends Joyce and Dennis Brugman of Ocala, FL, Maureen Shields, her husband Mike and daughter Katie of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and many nieces, nephews and a large extended network of family and friends. Besides her parents, Patricia is predeceased by her infant son, William G. Carson, brother, Edward E. Quinlan, mother and father-in-law Ruth E. and George A. Carson, brother-in-law A. Bernard Valliere, and two nephews, Thomas P. and John L. Valliere.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Saturday May 7, 2011 at 11 o'clock in Mary, Queen of Peach Church in Salem, NH.
Friends will be warmly received on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. – 10:45 A.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen, MA.
