Obituary

Robert F. “Bob” Gayton, 75, of Natick, passed away surrounded by his loving family on April 23, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Diane (Rolfe) Gayton with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.

Born in Attleboro, Bob was the son of the late Hector and Claudia St. Pierre. He was raised and educated in North Attleboro. He earned his BSBA with honors from Northeastern University and his MBA from Babson College. Bob was enlisted in the United States Army and served honorably as a First Lieutenant with the Budget and Accounting Division. A licensed Certified Public Accountant, he operated his own practice in Natick for over 30 years and was a longtime associate of Finn, Warnke, & Gayton, CPA. He was an honorary member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and was awarded the silver medal for outstanding achievement on the CPA exam. He served as Treasurer of the Skating Club of Boston for many years and was also a long-term member of the Board of Directors for the West Suburban Arena. He is also a former Member of the Town of Natick Finance Committee and was active in the Metro West Skating Foundation. Bob was truly devoted to his family and enjoyed nothing more than vacationing with them at his house on Higgins Beach, ME.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his devoted daughters, Cynthia Stevenson of Southborough and Laura Gayton of Natick; his cherished grandchildren, Emily, Lindsey, and Matilda; his loving sisters Jane Grenon and Nancy Preston both of North Attleboro; his son-in-law, Robert Stevenson of Southborough; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend his funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) NATICK on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 9:00 AM to be followed by his Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick's Church, Natick at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at a later date in Auburn, ME. Bob's family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Metro West Hospice and Home Care 85 Lincoln St. Framingham, MA 01702.
