Tewksbury - Lucien R. Monbleau, age 95 a well known Tewksbury businessman, died Saturday, April 23 2011 following a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Eleanor Viola (Garrigan) Monbleau, who died in 1994.
He was born in Lowell, May 27, 1915, one of four children of the late Euclid and Rosanna (Pellerin) Monbleau, but lived his entire life in Tewksbury. He founded the Lucien R. Monbleau & Son Painting Company, and operated it until retirement at age 77. He was a lifelong communicant of St. William's Church.
He is survived by three children, Paul Monbleau, and his wife Diane (Morrissette) of Dracut, Mary Jane "Jane" Grant and her husband Donald A. of Hudson, NH, and Martha Ann Hardenburg and her husband Ret. USAF Col. Charles Hardenburg, of FL; six grandchildren, Lt. Col. Philip Monbleau, U. S. Army stationed in Brussels, Belgium, Steven Monbleau of Billerica, Deborah Grant of Dracut, Marianne Field of Fitchburg, Brian Hardenburg of GA, and Kevin Hardenburg of AZ; 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Leo Monbleau, Blanche Boisvert, and Grace Brabant.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, April 29, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Burial followed at St. Mary Cemetery, No. Tewksbury. Donations for the hearing impaired made to D.E.A.F., Inc., 215 Brighton Ave., Allston, MA 02134 or visit deafinconline.org, would be appreciated.
