Mrs. Joan F. (Arnold) Pease Baron Black, of Taunton, died Thursday, April 21, following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Floyd Black. She was born 71 years ago in Abington, the daughter of the late John and Marie (Granger) Arnold. She was educated in Abington and Whitman, and had been a Taunton area resident for the past 37 years. Mrs. Baron Black was a friend of Bill W. She enjoyed needlework, reading, making crafts, cooking and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she leaves: 3 sons: Robert E. Pease, Jr. of Brockton, John M. Pease of Lyman, Me., and Steven P. Pease of New Bedford; 1 daughter: Patricia J. Skidmore of Taunton, 2 brothers: Thomas Arnold of Fla., and Peter Chalmers of N.C.; 1 sister: Lynn Crist of N.C.; 1 sister-in-law: Bonnie Arnold of Va.; 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Black was also the sister of the late John Arnold and the grandmother of the late Daniel Northrup.
A Memorial Service will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Saturday, April 30 at 7:00 P.M. Visiting Hours will precede the Service, Saturday, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
