New Bedford – David R. Rucker, 55, of New Bedford died at home on April 12, 2011. He was the husband of Kyle M. (Dexter) Rucker.
Mr. Rucker was born in Clovis, NM, son of Charles E. Rucker of New Bedford and the late Lorraine M. (Dufresne) Rucker, and resided in New Bedford most of his life. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, New Bedford. He was employed as a cabinetmaker locally and on Nantucket Island and was a former member of the local Carpenter’s Union. He enjoyed antique cars, riding motorcycles, writing music, working with disabled individuals and was an avid sport fan.
In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by a son: David K. Rucker of New Bedford; a daughter: Jennifer Rucker of Fort Meyers, FL; a sister: Susan L. Rucker of Davenport, IA; and 2 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Our Lady of Fatima Church, New Bedford on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 10:00 A.M.
Interment will be in Peckham West Cemetery, New Bedford.
