Lucille Tolley Hobbs, age 61, died April 21, 2011 at Cone Memorial Hospital after a two year decline in health.
Born October 30, 1949 in Danville, she was the daughter of the late John M. Tolley, Sr. and Ruby Lillian Cassidy Tolley. She was employed at Durham Hosiery where she later retired. She lived most of her life in Danville and was married to Charles Hobbs, who survives. Mrs. Hobbs was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons: Roger E. Hobbs and his wife Carol, Thomas R. Hobbs and his wife Stormy, Brian W. Hobbs, all of Danville; two brothers: Dennis R. Tolley of Danville and Perry L. Tolley of Raleigh, NC; three sisters: Linda Sue Hawkins and husband Jack of Danville, Betty Jean London of Danville, and June Marie Stephens and husband Billy of Oak Island, NC. She was predeceased by one brother: John M. Tolley, Jr. and two sisters: Mary Ann Tolley Jones and Alice Faye Tolley.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Bill S. Soyars will be held Monday, April 25, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 24, 2011 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. At other times the family will receive at 163 American Legion Blvd, Danville.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
