TEWKSBURY - Nina L. (Cammarata) Saccardo, age 81, a former Tewksbury businesswoman, died Thursday evening, April 21, at Lowell General Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Eugene R. Saccardo, with whom she had celebrated a 59th wedding anniversary this past September 9th.
She was born in Boston, July 11, 1929, one of four children of the late Salvatore and Brigida (Puma) Cammarata. She lived in Roslindale before moving to Tewksbury in 1972.
She worked as a Medical Secretary for Tewksbury Hospital, and later in life, turned her hobby and passion for painting and crafting into a business when she founded Nina's Ceramics at the corner of Main and Chandler Streets in Tewksbury. She was also well known in the area Bingo socials.
She was a communicant of St. William's Parish in Tewksbury.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons Paul E. Saccardo and his wife Lea (Marsiglia) of Canton, MA, Michael C. Saccardo of Tewksbury, and Stephen S. Saccardo and his wife Marianne Avila-Saccardo of Methuen; a sister, Anna LoGrasso of Norwood; a brother, Salvatore Cammarata and his wife Melina of West Roxbury; and many nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Michael Cammarata.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, April 26, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Burial followed at St. Mary Cemetery, No. Tewksbury.
