Louise Clayton Braziel, 58, of Ocilla, Georgia died Thursday, April 21, 2011 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Satilla Baptist Church with Rev. William Pope officiating. Interment will follow in the Ocilla Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Louise was born July 27, 1952 in Augusta, Georgia to Dora Ann Little Clayton and the late Thomas Clayton. She lived in Ocilla and Fitzgerald all of her life and graduated from Irwin County High School in 1971. She attended the University of Georgia and Valdosta State College, receiving her Master’s Degree in Special Education. Louise began her teaching career in Fitzgerald and taught in Ocilla with a total of 38 years of teaching. After her retirement she was a substitute teacher. She was a member of Satilla Baptist Church, the Women’s Sunday School Class and an AWANA leader. Louise was a member of the Review Club, a devoted mother and grandmother and an awesome aunt.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Michael & Alicia Young of Jacksonville, FL; daughter: Lacy Braziel of Ocilla; grandchildren: Bree Young, Maci Young and Elizabeth Estes; mother: Dora Ann Little Clayton of Ocilla; brother & sister-in-law: Mike & Kaye Clayton of Ocilla; sister & brother-in-law: Lydia & Leo Roberts of Fitzgerald as well as several nieces and nephews.
