Rita V. (Monfet) Marchand, 92, formerly of Newtonville, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2011, at The Meadows in North Andover, MA. Born and raised in Lawrence, MA, she was the daughter of the late Philibert and Beatrice (Dumais) Monfet. Rita grew up a member of Sacred Heart Church in So. Lawrence, MA, where she was educated and married to the late Joseph A. Marchand. She is survived by two sisters Germaine (Monfet) Dumont of Methuen and Antoinette (Monfet) Giard of North Andover, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
Burial services were private. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass to be celebrated on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at @ 10 am at Saint Michael Church, 196 Main Street, North Andover, MA 01845.
