Sylvia Griner Crumbley, 78, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Life Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Good Friday, April 22, 2011 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Ruffin officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Crumbley was born October 4, 1932 in Fitzgerald to the late Adlai B. and Nina Bass Grinerof Nashville and Fitzgerald. She graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1949. Mrs. Crumbley attended Middle Georgia College, Valdosta State College and Georgia Southern College, receiving her BS in teaching. She taught school in the Atlanta area, Quitman and Nicholls. She moved back to Fitzgerald in 2008 and was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Dorcas Golden Circle Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law: Mike & Cathy Buglioli and Ken Griner of Columbus; grandchildren: April Robinson, Jenny Cherry, Joshua Chapman and Ashley Shell and 8 great grandchildren; sisters: Lorraine Gorday and Diane Griner of Fitzgerald as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, John D. Buglioli and Thomas L. Crumbley and a son, Jay Adlai Buglioli.
