WEBSTER - Edelmiro “Abuelo” Muller, 85, of Village Way, died Monday, April 18, 2011, at Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge, after suffering a heart attack. His wife of over 50 years, Rosa (Ofarril) Muller, died in 2008.
He leaves 6 daughters, Sonia Gonzales of Dudley, Nitza and Janet Muller, Maria Rodriguez and Maritza Muller, all of Webster, and Nancy Muller of Puerto Rico; a sister, Rosa Muller of Puerto Rico; 22 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was born in Cidra, Puerto Rico, the youngest of the 8 children of Francisco and Francisca (Rosario) Muller. He moved to this area in 1979.
Mr. Muller was a cemetery caretaker in Puerto Rico until he retired. He was a member of Saint Louis Church. He enjoyed playing his accordion and harmonica and taking his daily walks. Most people knew him as “Abuelo,” which means “grandfather.” He was devoted to his family.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 23, in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral home, 340 School Street. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4:30 to 6:30 PM Friday, April 22, in the funeral home.
