Robert B. MacDonald, 78, of Brockton, died April 18, 2011 at Champion Rehabilitation and Health Center. Born and raised in Quincy he was the son of the late Roderick J. and Mary C. (MacDonald) MacDonald, and had been a resident of Brockton since 1955. Robert had been a volunteer at the Brockton VA Medical Center for over 40 years. He volunteered because he wanted to repay the Veterans Administration for the wonderful treatment he received following the Korean Conflict. He served in the Korean Conflict with the Army Airborne. Robert had a deep faith and was devoted to the Catholic Church.
Robert is survived by his sister Gail M. Duchaney of Rockland, loving nieces and nephews and good friend Ed Glynn. He was the brother of the late Florence J. Crosier, Margaret M. Wood, Roderick J. MacDonald, Jr. and John H. MacDonald.
A Graveside Service will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton Friday April 22, 2011 at 10am.
