BROOKFIELD-Thomas P. McGinn, 71, of Brookfield, died Saturday, April 16th in Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston. He leaves his wife, Patricia M. (Delorme) McGinn, with whom he would have celebrated his 50th anniversary in June; a son, Thomas M. McGinn and his wife Sandra of Worcester; four daughters, Amy M. Houle and her husband Eugene and Lori M. Lemieux and her husband Robert, all of Cherry Valley, Jane M. Desrosiers and her husband David of North Grosvenordale, CT and Catherine M. Lamson and her husband Michael of East Brookfield; two sisters, Helen Johnson and Arlene Smith, both of Worcester; 12 grandchildren, Amanda, Melanie, Haylee, Eric and his wife Sarah, Stephanie, Robert, Benjamin, Victoria, Cassidy, Cara, Cora Rose and Dakota; several nephews and nieces.
Mr. McGinn was born in Worcester, the son of Howard B. and Helen (Halloran) McGinn. He was a 1959 graduate of Worcester Vocational High School. He was a shipper and receiver for TE Madison Cable Corp. for 25 years until his retirement in 2006. He was an U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Berlin crisis. Mr. McGinn was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Brookfield. He was a very active member of the Knights of Columbus since 1967 and was currently the state treasurer. Mr. McGinn served as past Grand Knight of Council 4528 in Leicester and was the past Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree John Cardinal Wright Assembly #1924. He was a member of the American Legion Post 138, Spencer.
The funeral is Wednesday, April 27th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Tuesday, April 26th from 3:00 until 7:30PM in the funeral home.
