Eleanor L. Boughter, 87

Eleanor L. (Shurtleff) Boughter, 87, of Norton formerly of Bradenton, Florida and Brockton passed away on Monday April 18, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the beloved wife of the late Wilbur D. Boughter who pre-deceased her in 1984.
Born in Brockton, MA on September 6, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Robert A. and Edna M. (Phelps) Shurtleff.
Eleanor grew up and was educated in Brockton. She furthered her studies by attending Stonehill College in Easton.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Boughter had worked as an accountant for 27 years at Knapp Shoe Co. in Brockton. She retired in 1979.
Affectionately known as “Auntie L”, Eleanor had made her home in Norton for 20 years and had formerly resided in Bradenton, Florida and Brockton. She had formerly attended the Methodist Church in Brockton and was an avid doll collector.
The dear sister of the late Robert Shurtleff, Richard Shurtleff and Meredith Yarletts, she is survived many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Graveside services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held at the Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater at a later date and time to be announced.
Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing, may remember Eleanor with a donation made in her memory to the charity of ones choice.
