Irving C. “Clint” Smith, Jr., 72 years, of Whitman formerly of Norwood died April 17, 2011 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Born and raised in Whitman, son of the late Irving C. and Marjorie (Bump) Smith. During the Vietnam Era he served in the Air Force. For many years he had been employed at General Dynamics in Quincy as a welder and retired from the Town of Brookline. Clint was a Red Sox fan and enjoyed driving throughout Massachusetts for a cup of coffee and conversion. His favorite line was “On the road again” and Clint is now on the road again, this time to heaven.
He is survived by his children, Susan Cunnien, Tom and Stacy Smith all of Minnesota; Paula Nevels and David Smith both of Florida; his brothers and sisters Lowell Smith of W. Bridgewater, Lawrence Smith of N. Carolina, Stanley Litchfield of E. Bridgewater, Joanne Steele of Michigan, Donna Leadbetter of Whitman and Karen Brown of N. Carolina. He is also survived by his grandchildren, nieces and nephews and was the brother of the late Ruth Thibeault.
A Funeral Service will be held in the United Church of Christ, 10 Bedford Street, Abington, Wednesday at 10am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater. Visiting hours omitted.
