Louella (Lou) Grace LaFollette Greenwood died on April 14, 2011 in Peoria, Illinois at the age of 87.
She was born on September 23, 1923 in Athens Ohio and married Harlow Greenwood in 1947. They lived in Cleveland, Ohio for twenty years where they raised their three children Geoff, Harlow Jr. (Woody) and Gail. In 1968 the family moved to Saint Louis, Missouri where Lou stayed until the spring of 2009.
Lou’s interests were diverse and she excelled in business, leisure, and family activities. She enjoyed flying, baking, gardening, playing tennis, playing bridge and raising her children.
She is survived by her three children: Geoff and his wife Jennie of Brimfield, Illinois, Woody and his wife Nancy of Ozark, MO and Gail and her partner Kurt of Sioux Falls, SD. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Jill Greenwood of Brooklyn, NY, Callie Greenwood of Chicago, IL, Matthew Greenwood of Oxford, OH, Nathan Greenwood of Dekalb, IL and Leah Greenwood Ozark, MO.
The Greenwood family is very grateful for the loving, kind and compassionate staff at the Bickford House in Peoria. Much thanks is owed to them for their wonderful service and care.
A memorial will be held at Mason Funeral Home in Germantown Hills on Saturday April 23 at 1100. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the family for a charity to be determined by them at a later date.
