Obituary

TAUNTON – Walter J. Gajdascz, Sr. husband of Irene (Ventura) Gajdascz, died at Golden Living Wedgemere on April 17, 2011.
He was 82.
Born, raised, and educated in Taunton, he was the son of the late Sebastian and Anna (Sukykos) Gajdascz.
A 1945 graduate of the former Taunton Vocational High School, Mr. Gajdascz later served in the U.S. Army during WW II.
A retired supervisor, he was employed by the former Hercules, later Haskon, for over thirty-nine years before retiring in 1986.
He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, and a member of the Taunton Elks Lodge 150.
He enjoyed traveling, dancing, spending time at the beach and carpentry.
For twenty-two years, Mr. Gajdascz and his wife spent their winters in Daytona Beach.
Besides his wife of Taunton, he leaves two sons, Walter J. Gajdascz, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Freetown, and Paul B. Gajdascz and his wife Graceann of Taunton; two granddaughters, Lisa Marie Gajdascz and Lori Ann Gajdascz-Riley; four great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late John, Joseph, Stanley and Sophie Gajdasz.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Wednesday, April 20th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 19th from 4 to 7 p.m.
