Ms. April Yvonne Sands, age 33, of King, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011 at her residence. She was born on July 30, 1977 in Forsyth County to the late Marty Linfred Sands and Judy Barneycastle. Ms. Sands is survived by one son, Montana Luke Sands, of the home; her mother, Judy Barneycastle, of King; a special friend, Randy “Joe” Goins, of King; one sister, Natasha Lynette Sands, of King; one niece, Taylor Lynette Ashley, of King; one nephew, Tristen Marty Sands, of King; grandparents, Gordon and Janice Tilley, of King; and Norma Jean Sands, of Pilot Mtn., preceded in death by the late Sanford “Shady” Barneycastle and the late Lester Johnson Sands; one surviving great-grandmother, Kay Frances Easter, of Mt. Airy; several aunts and uncles; and a special friend Ann Boyd. A Memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Woods officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 18, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
